The weekend party has begun Midtown. Are you loving the weekend?
Strange how plans go awry. My weekend started with a text message at 6:45 a.m. “Can you work today?”. Okay, this is how my Saturday starts. When I walked into the coffee shop at 7:00 a.m. dressed in work clothes, the staff thought something was wrong. “Uh, I got called into work.” I drank my coffee and attempted to wake up. Then it was off to work. The good news is that I only had to work a half day.
After work I had to think of what I wanted to do during the day. How about a bike ride to Outdoors Inc.? And I need to stop by the liquor store. And I need some Yolo. So I jumped on my bike and I was off. The day was very hot, but no worries. Outdoors Inc. have great staff who helped me find tire levers and a co2 inflator. I forgot a couple of things, but I was good to go. Thanks Outdoors Inc.!
Next up was Top Top Liquor store. The air conditioning that was broken a few weeks ago was now fixed. I put the bottle in a bag and headed down Madison Ave. Just to let you know, the sidewalks on Madison look terrible. The sidewalk condition really needs to be addressed.
Onto Yolo! “Rode my bike to the ice cream shop”. I arrived at Yolo and left my bottle of liquor outside the store next to my bike. If you have not been to Yolo, GO! Heaven in a cup is the best description of Yolo. Check out the new summer hours and BREAKFAST at Yolo and Lady Bugg bakery. I really need to check out that breakfast.
Midtown, are you ready for CVS pharmacy on Cooper and Union? It is coming soon.
And Slider Inn at the corner of Cooper and Peabody is looking to be opened sooner than later.
And time for a small rant. Attention business owners on Madison. I rode my bike and spent my money at a few stores today along your street. Get bike racks. We see them and will stop in your store and spend money.
I have heard the new Gus’s Fried Chicken on Mendenhall has finally opened this weekend. Another place I need to check out.
Dinner tonight? BIG Cobb Salad at Republic Coffee. $10 for dinner for two. A great deal.
Finally, in the words of the Beatles, “Let it be”.
