The Kirby Parkway Project Meeting (or as I like to call it; “The Shelby Farms Shortcut”) is taking place this Tuesday 9/24/13 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Agricenter International (7777 Walnut Grove Rd, Memphis TN 38120).
If you want to voice your opinion about the city, county and state placing a mass transit roadway THROUGH Shelby Farms, now is the time to speak up. I’m in. Are you? The Commercial Appeal offered a written opinion by Steven Sondheim. You can view his article here from the Commercial Appeal.
The article makes a good argument for opposing the project.
My photo was featured as part of an article about the Kirby Parkway Project in the Commercial Appeal (I was riding my bicycle crossing Walnut Grove Road; one of the most dangerous intersections in town).

Again, if you like Shelby Farms the way it is now, please attend the public meeting 9/24/2013 at 5:00 p.m.
Read more about the project from TDOT (Yes, TDOT STILL has the name of the town incorrect on the website, even after I emailed officials to correct it a week ago.)
You can also read more from officials at Shelby Farms and their opinion of the project here.
See YOU at the public hearing Memphis.
