Back in Memphis. Had a few fun days in New Orleans. What did I do? Eat. Drink. Gamble. Take a tour. Attend a wedding. And walk around the French Quarter.
I did see Bill Murray at P.J.’s on Magazine St.
Bill Murray thinks I am awesome.
Hey, how about some french pastries.
La Boulangerie (4600 Magazine St) has some great treats to eat.
We tried a new place to eat on St. Charles; The Fat Hen.
(Wearing my “Memphis” t-shirt). The place smelled like smoked bacon. Baaaa…connnnn. Good stuff here at The Fat Hen for breakfast.
Beer? Yes beer. Gordon Biersch near the casino always has some of the best beers in town.
I was up $20 from the casino, so I decided to spend my earnings here.
Coffee? Still Perkin’ (2727 Prytania) has some very good coffee. Yes the place in the Garden District is better suited for your parents, but the coffee is good. Really. I went there three different days.
T-shirts? Yes. I picked up a couple of shirts that I really liked.
Gumbo? Yes please.
How about some art from a local artist in New Orleans.
We purchase art every time we are in New Orleans. We really liked this artist and her work.
My favorite picture from New Orleans?
If you want an apartment “NOT HAUNTED”, this one is for you. I guess there are a limited number of “NOT HAUNTED” apartments for rent in the French Quarter.
We stayed for a few days in the Garden District. Get a day pass for the trolley. You can even track your trolley or bus “live” using www.norta.com. I have to admit NORTA provided us good service getting around the city while we were there.
Today I took the bicycle to work. Summer? It felt like fall this morning. Nice and cool outside. Good ride, although my legs were a bit out of shape since it has been days since I have been on the bicycle.
New Orleans wore us out! Until next time, laissez le bon temps rouler.
Oh yeah. I almost forgot. Want a good movie to watch? Check out the film “Berberian Sound Studio” 08/15/2013 at the Brooks Museum 7:00 PM. I’m in.
See YOU back here for more beers, gumbo, art and bikes. Cheers.
