Finally Friday Midtown. Drinks are on me.
The day began at Republic Coffee. I read the news, checked Facebook, Twitter and email. Then it was off to work.
Lunch today consisted of leftover Central BBQ wings
and BBQ Shop ribs.
Yes, I had the best of both worlds. Perfect BBQ lunch today.
One event I forgot to post is the Cycle Memphis Ride on Saturday night. That is correct; a COLD bicycle ride. But YOU can go on the ride. Just dress right. I take rides in freezing temperatures all the time. As long as you are dressed right, you will feel toasty riding that bicycle. Meet at Cooper Young Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and enjoy the ride.
Speaking of bicycles, here is a bike from New Orleans.
So many locals were riding bicycles in the street, going to or driving from work. We asked a local bartender if he owned a bicycle. Not only does he bike to work, he doesn’t own a car or have a driver’s license. He knows exactly how much food will fit in his back pack when shopping for groceries. The locals seem very at ease riding bicycles in the streets WITHOUT bike lanes. Not many “bike haters” in New Orleans. I have to say that New Orleans was almost as comfortable with bicycles as Amsterdam. Come on Memphis, you can do it!
I’m looking at a beautiful day off tomorrow. Enjoy the weekend Midtown. Get out and have fun. Cheers.
