Two for Tuesday Midtown.

Morning ride? Not as good as yesterday. The morning weather was so good I wanted to ride slower. I had to keep telling myself, “stick to the schedule”. Pedal. Pedal. Pedal. So I wasn’t as fast, but the ride was good.

Turntables and bicycles? Together? Some people want them. Check out the Turntable Rider bicycle at cnet.com.

You need to read www.ilovememphisblog.com DAILY. Why? Two reasons; events and restaurants. Just when you think you know ALL of the great events in town, you find out you are missing some events. Same thing with restaurants. First up City Auto Rajun Cajun Crawfish Festival downtown, Sunday April 15th 12-6. Bucket o Crawfish is $20. Get some. Next up? Grawemeyers new restaurant downtown. I stopped by a couple of weeks ago. The menu looks great. I need to stop in and try EVERYTHING. Here is a tip; if Brandon is working, he is a great waiter. Sit in his section. Thanks Kerry for keeping Memphis updated with great events and great restaurants.

I did find a new bicycle DIY alarm today online. This DIY is more technical but cooler. You combine a motion sensor switch with an old cell phone. If someone tampers with your bike, the phone auto dials your pre-selected telephone number to let you know a theft is occurring. Read more about the bike alarm here (this was for a motorcycle, but the alarm can be used for bicycles).

The ride home was good tonight. Again, I really didn’t feel like riding with speed, so I took my time. Pedal….. pedal…. pedal. At one point along the Greenline I counted eight runners, cyclists, walkers waiting at an intersection. Get out and enjoy the weather. The work crews at Shelby Farms? Yeah, here is a picture of a worker doing one-armed push ups on the side of the road.

Best picture of the day? I found this on the back window of a pickup truck this evening.

What is it time for? Beer. I’m trying out some Shock Top. Here’s to ya! Come back tomorrow for more Elvis, beers, and love. Cheers. And check out the events listed below. Cheers.
